Default Dye Farming in Pre-Searing Ascalon

I've read countless articles talking about a lot of expensive dyes in pre-searing Ascalon and the fortune many have been making out of them.

Enough with all the blabber, heh... here's my question:

Which spawns are most-likely to drop the expensive silver and black dyes in Pre-Searing?

I was told Bandits... but I'm unsure.

Lol, farming in Pre-Searing is not great, but if you REALLY think you can make a fortune off of it...killing Charr I have gotten like 2 Black Dye drops and 5 Silver Dye drops. Farming is slow though IMO and I was just killing them for XP.

I got most of my dye drops from the elementals in the southwest "snowy" area of pre-searing. (Can't recall the name, sorry!)

Make a smiter, go down to catacombs, own Restless Corpses and restart, I got around 50 dyes from them in 3 days

I farmed the Skale and Bandits outside Fort Ranik and when that got slow, the Bandits East of Bardon Estates. There are merchants at both places so you can sell your stuff when you get full.

I farmed more than 100K in pre. And really, with allot of patience, it doesn't matter where you do it.

Newbie players who don't know they are valuable and worth more than the 1 gold the merchant is offering to buy them for.
Not kidding.

I think he was just pointing out the easiest spawn, he actually doesnt do that....I hope .

As for the black dye, the bandits are the only ones I have ever gotten a black dye from. I never really farmed though, I just got lucky I guess

Farm stuff that actually makes you rich, please. You get something like 1 Black dye each 5 hours of farming, you could get a Black dye in 30 minutes farming if you're in post.

Well, I don`t know about that. I`ve yet to get a Black dye in post. I got 2 in Pre and about 10 Silver. I`ve yet to see a Silver in post. Maybe just my bad luck but I`ve solo farmed my Cuirass off.

I believe he is refering to the fact that you can farm for enough gold to buy a black dye in post faster than you can find a black in pre.

Well... I believe its all random drops. However, I've seen people with over 100 dye of every color and 100k in pre sear. My suggestion- don't waste too much time trying to get a whole lot of dye. It would be a better use of time to play the game and get some weapon with good mods that is worth more than a bunch of dye.

And I got black dyes from killing gargoyles in the catacombs. At least 5 of them, the last 4 months

I don't, but tens if not hundreds of people do. It IS the fastest and easiest way to farm dye in pre-searing. If you want tons of black, that's the way to do it.

EDIT: although it may be hard to outbid the guys who got millions in gold and items in from post-searing before the transfer-in-guildhall exploit got fixed, and whom are now using it to hoard black dye. You may have missed the black dye scam boat.

I found my bfirst black dye 20 mins into my first char, and I was all like "Woooo now I have Black Start Bow!!!!!" (thinking to self I was fairly 1337-tastic.

Got to post searing and :-O They are worth how much, I definatly cried on the inside, alot.

Dyes drop randomly from any enemy the only reason they show up more in pre-searing it seems is because there is less possible stuff to drop, theres what, 10 of each weapon type if your lucky, maybe more, lets just say theres 100 different things that can drop in pre-searing, if there are like (sumthing like) 8 dyes or so, i forget the exact number of colours, then that means every 8/100 kills you can expect a dye pretty much.

Ok they arnt the numbers, but you can imaging that post-searing as several thousands of droppables, and you get the picture.
